Oh, glad he survived - I didn't hear about that one. There are tons of people who are killed on the tracks every year. But there are also plenty of tales of people who jump down onto the tracks to save a fellow subway rider - those are pretty cool. I just posted one of those not too long ago.

The video's blocked, but he must have been one of the ones I didn't hear about. Really, we have a LOT of them.

Okay, so here's a good one.

NY1 - which is actually one of our better news channels here - reported that the body of a woman was found stuffed in a suitcase up in East Harlem. Estimated age is somewhere between 20 and 30 - okay, nothing weird there.

The head scratcher here - NY1 then reported, "The medical examiner is still trying to determine whether or not the woman was dismembered." Really? Really. Any arms, legs or head missing? Aside from the stab wounds found on her, did any of those stab wounds cause parts to fall off the woman? How can you NOT tell is someone was dismembered?

Perhaps decomposition had progressed enough to the point where the head could have just fallen off, rather than be cut of intentionally.

Update on the story - body was fresh, so it wasn't decomp. Just a really dumb medical examiner.
