POWER DREIDEL

Drinking Game played with four dreidels. At players turn, player spins four dreidels and does each action associated with the symbol. Nun - Nothing happens Hai - (Beer) Drink Half of your beer. (Mixed Drink) Drink once and spin again. (Liquor) Half shot Gimel - Give a drink to someone else. Shin - (Beer) Chug it. (Mixed Drink) Take three. (Liquor) Take a shot.

The last one I played was just a modified version of the usual 'get it wrong and drink' game. Edward Forty-hands while playing Catch Phrase. Answer wrong and drink, answer right, don't. But with the added challenge of the forties duct-taped to your hands and you can't pee until one or both are empty(it depends how easily you can pee one handed).

Equipment
1 deck of playing cards
2 or more players
Alcoholic beverages, typically wine, beer or mixed spirits.

Card Drawn

Ace "Waterfall" All players must drink their beverage, depending on the direction of the game (whether you are picking cards clockwise or counter clockwise) no player can stop drinking until the player before them has stopped. The exception is the player who drew the ace, who may stop whenever they please.

2 "You" The player who drew the card assigns someone to drink.

3 "Me" The player who drew the card drinks.

4 "Floor" Last person to touch the floor drinks.

5 "Guys" Guys drink.

6 "Chicks" Girls Drink.

7 "Heaven" All players must point upwards, the last player to do so must drink.

8 "Mate" / "Date" The player who drew the "8" chooses another player as a partner and both players must drink. A common variation of this rule is that from this point in the game, the player who has been picked as the "mate" must drink whenever the player who drew the "8" drinks. This is only recommended for larger groups.

9 "Rhyme" The player who drew the 9 says a phrase, then the players go around in the circle saying phrases that rhyme with the original. No phrase may be said twice, the first player who can not come up with a phrase, or says a phrase that doesn't rhyme must drink.

10 "Categories" The player who drew the 10 picks a category such as "sports teams" or "bands from the '90s," the players then go around in the circle saying items from that category, the first player who can not think of an item or says something not in the category (or if all items have been exhausted) must drink.

Jack "Rule" The player who drew the jack must make a rule for the game, with suggestions for rules listed below. It is considered unsporting to make rules which affect a particular person or group of people, rather than target everyone. (Compare "John cannot speak English" vs "The next one to draw a club cannot speak english").

Queen "Questions" The player who drew the Queen asks a question, depending on the house rules, players either go around in the circle asking questions (some variations require that the question be contextually sensible) or the player with whom the asker made eye contact with must ask a question to another player (in some circles asking to the same person loses the game). No question may be said twice (or repackaged in some versions), the first player who can not come up with a question, or says something that is not a question must drink.

King "Rules" You make a rule and everyone has to follow it, until another king comes up.

That's the only drinking game I know, but we always called it Waterfalls. Tons of fun. Only time I puked was a combo of it and sake.

We used to play 3 man in college. get 2 standard 6 sided dice. Each player rolls one until someone rolls a 3. That player is then 3 man. The player to his L then takes both dice & starts rolling. He gets one roll, then passes the dice to the next player to the L. The results are as follows:

Any time a 3 comes up (including the hard way), the 3 man drinks.
Any time a 10 comes up, that's a "social", & everyone drinks.
Doubles means you get to give out that many drinks (2 if you rolled snake eyes, 6 if you rlled double 3's, etc.). On Double 3's, the 3 man drinks twice.
When 3 man has dice in hand, if he rolls a 3 he may assign 3 man to someone else.

A variation has the player continuing to roll until he gets a roll with no results (like a 5 & a 2) before passing the dice, thus prolonging the 3 man's time as 3 man, & their "agony", having to drink that much more.

And I got to be pretty good at quarters, if we played with shot glasses. One of my old roommates taught me how to roll the quarter off my thumb rather than bounce it off the table, and I could nail that shit.

That was our game of choice. We'd play that for hours or until we ran out of beer.

I remember playing a version of Vin's WATERFALLS game a few times.

Another good one:
CHUG BOAT: Everyone picks a character from 'The Love Boat' (Captain Stuebing, Isaac, Gopher, even the Pacific Princess herself). If a scene starts with YOUR character in it, you have to drink half of your beer. If you picked the ship itself, you have to drink half of your beer whenever one of the full length shots of the ship sailing appears. If you picked Isaac and there was a hot black chic amongst the guest stars (I.E. an Isaac gets laid episode), you KNEW you were going to get drunk.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy drinking games. But I think it was a foregone conclusion whenever I started drinking I was gonna get drunk.

Tour de 'Franzia'

Le Tour de Franzia is a complex variation of "slap the bag", or wine chugging. Instead of having teams chug a box of wine the fastest, teams watch any DVD of a recent Tour de France and drink accordingly. Just as there are 21 days in the Tour de France, there are 21 "days" in the Tour de Franzia. There are three drinking variations within the tour that mirror the actual race. For example, in the 2005 Tour de France, day 10 was a mountain stage from Grenoble to Courchevel. Therefore, on day 10 of the Tour de Franzia, players drink their wine according to the rules of a mountain stage.

The Stages

Time Trial- Wine is dispersed equally amongst all teammates. Everyone drinks at the same time.
- The first player to empty their cup must place it upside-down on the table, and flip it right-side-up
- The first drinker to flip their cup wins 1 point for their team

Mountain Stage- Wine is dispersed into eight shot glasses. Shots are taken in sequence one at a time. The next shot cannot be taken until the previous shot glass has been placed back on the table.
- Every member of the team must take at least one shot
- Whoever takes the 8th shot must place the shot glass back on the table and bounce a quarter into it
- The fastest team wins 2 points for their team
- The team that comes in second wins 1 point

Team Race- All wine is placed in one cup. Players drink and pass the cup in a designated order.
- Every member of the team must consume some amount of wine
- Once a player passes the cup, they cannot drink again in that stage
- The 4th member of the team who finishes the cup must place it back on the table upside-down and flip it back over
- The fastest team wins 3 points for their team
- The team that comes in second wins 2 points
- The team that comes in third wins 1 point

Rules and Regulations

Basic Rules
1. Teams should consist of four players
2. Each team must finish their own box of wine
3. Approximately 8 oz. (half a cup) of wine must be consumed in each stage
4. Any excess wine must be consumed in the final stage
5. Each team member must participate in each stage
6. Before a stage starts, cups must be resting on the table
7. Players can start with their hands on the cup
8. If possible, officials should be used to regulate rules and observe close finishes
9. Officials and team leaders can resolve case-specific situations and change rules accordling
10. If officials are unavailable, the Tour relies on the spirit of the game: be honest, be fair and regulate yourself and others

How to Win
1. The team that finishes a stage the fastest is awarded points
2. The type of stage determines the amount of points a team wins
Time Trial- 1 point
Mountain Stage- 2 points (1st place), 1 point (2nd place)
Team Race- 3 points (1st place), 2 points (2nd place), 1 point (3rd place)
3. The team with the most points at the end of the 21st day wins
4. A tie results in a 22nd day
- Teams must determine type of alcohol and quantity
- Teams drink in the style of a Team Race
- The fastest team wins
- The race must be observed and initiated by a third party

Violations
1. Team finishes a stage with leftover wine in their cups
- Substantial wine remains in either the team cup or shot glasses
Penalty- team is disqualified from that stage
2. Excessive wine spilling
- Knocked over cups or shot glasses
- Sloppy drinking where more wine is spilled than drank
Penalty- team losses 1 point from overall score
3. Cheating
- Every player did not participate in a Team Race or Mountain Stage
- More than one shot is taken at the same time in a Mountain stage
- Drinking wine out of sequence with the face
- Any shenanigans deemed illegal by the officals
Penalty- team losses 2 points from overall score
4. Leftover wine after the final stage
Penalty- disqualification
5. Finishing wine before final stage
- A result of poor planning and failure to understand the difference between the Tour and wine chugging
Penalty- team cannot compete in remaining stages and cannot win anymore points
NOTE- if all teams finish early, the remaining stage(s) can be eliminated or combined as determined by the officials

Wow...I wish that we had done that Tour De Franzia back in college. We could have easily put together 3-4 teams of willing participants in my fraternity.
