  • No More Bayonets

V would know best, but basic is apparently getting revamped.

This has been in the works for quite a while...

Glad to see someone finally got off their ass and did it.

Did anyone in your time in the service think that the bayonet had any use?

Sounds like a lot of great updates, but I admit, I would be saddened if I signed up and then didn't get to do the bayonet war face charge into a dummy.

I was able to do that as a kid. I fucking loved using the bayonet.

            Ed...

Everything that is issued to you has a use, and yes... my comrades and I used bayonets on occasion.

When all else fails, it's nice to have an eight inch blade on a 26 inch long rifle.

Now you have a sharp spear with a 32 inch reach... combine that with the normal 72-74 inch fighting reach the average man has, and you can kill anyone inside of 8 feet.

            I like that math...

Can't you just buy a bag of flour and do that in your backyard?

But did they not issue you one when you received your 5" scar?

We purchased our own knives for use. I bought my Gerber Mk II back in 1993 and I still have it.

Bayonets, while excellent when fixed to a rifle, are not the best choice for a knife fight.

And I did not stab him. I shot him.

Good to know for our Winslet battle. V brings a gun to a knife fight.

Billy there is no such thing as a fair fight.

Obviously. I'm from Texas and Vin isn't. Poor bastard has no chance.
