I know what you mean. This is probably gonna sound like more of an insult to Tennant than I'm intending, but I think Smith is everything Tennant wanted to be. Effervescent. Über-charming. Dapper in that sort of post-punk way.

Moffat and the other writers have done a really good job of making that catchphrase a favourite without running it into the ground. Case in point, the "stetsons are cool" from the Season 6 trailer.
