On another note...I was at work yesterday and I look in the Conference Room and there's a small snake (maybe 1 to 1 1/2 feet long). Normally, I'm not afraid of snakes, but this one startled me because it was unexpected. I yelped and told my boss and she ran to the other side of the building. (I work for a town, BTW)
I can't identify the snake because I'm no herpetologist and I'm not playing with a potentially poisonous creature. So, my boss calls the Police Dept. to have an officer come up to remove it. Meanwhile, I'm keeping the little bugger locked up in the Conference Room.
A short while later, one of the officers comes up, ID's the snake and removes it. Turns out it was a garter snake that had come in after both prey and warmth. I would've asked to hold it but it was aggressive because it was scared and secreting some kind of goo.
Glad I saw it first and not my boss 'cause she would've had a heart attack and I would've had to call 911.
