Did I say I was a fan of Clinton? No. But at least the worst thing he did was get his dick sucked (and put way too many pot smokers in jail) unlike Bush who has constantly lied to the American people and has taken us to a pointless fucking war. I'd pick Clinton again over Bush in a fucking heartbeat.

Also, did millions of people voice dissent over Clinton and march in protest countless fucking times? My mind is drawing a blank. I'm sure you have another link up your sleeve though.

You act like Bush is the only president to write executive orders and build upon previous orders.
That change to the constitution looks pretty harmless to me, and actually... it makes sense. I'm not for expanding federal powers just because, but seriously: When States have not adequately protected individual rights and liberties.

I would NEVER want the federal government to intervene in that situation! /sarcasm

Do you have any links illustrating that Clinton (or others) changed the constitution to eliminate civil liberties?

Also, do you interpret that article about Clinton as analogous to "walking all over the constitution"?

"The most critical Executive Order was issued on August 1, 1971. Nixon signed both a proclamation and Executive Order 11615. Proclamation No. 4074 states, "I hereby declare a national emergency", thus establishing an economic crisis. That national emergency order has not been rescinded.

The crisis that changed the direction of governmental thinking was the anti-Vietnam protests. Fear that such demonstrations might explode into civil unrest, Executive Orders began to be created to allow extreme measures to be implemented to curtail the demonstrations. "

                    http://www.natreformassn.org/statesman/98/powrgrab.html

" President Reagan in E.O. #12612, was intent on restraining the unconstitutional growth of centralized power that was being exerted by the Executive branch of the federal government. In short, Reagan was making a conservative attempt to restore the American Republic to what our Founding Fathers had intended it to be; that is, a constitutional republic of widely dispersed powers. He was concerned that the politicians and bureaucrats in the central (national) government had unconstitutionally arrogated too much power to themselves at the expense of the state and local governments.

President Clinton, on the other hand, as will be clear when we consider his executive order, is not at all concerned about limiting the unconstitutional powers now being exerted by the Executive Department and its increasingly all-powerful government agencies. In fact, he is interested in turning the American Republic upside down and converting it into a highly-centralized unitary government with all power emanating from his office (that is, from the Executive Department). This is anything but the kind of civil government envisioned by America's Founding Fathers! Clinton's entire political life has been oriented towards overtly (where he could politically risk doing so) or covertly (when no other method was available), enhancing and aggrandizing unconstitutional powers to himself in order to foster his own political ends. These ends have always been the use of unrestrained raw power wielded at his own discretion! "

                      Goddamn Nixon!

You got me, all kinds of presidents pissed on the constitution.

I'm confused about the last snippet though, seems to me like you could replace Clinton with Bush and it was still be completely accurate. But you are for both Reagan and Bush, aren't they polar opposites based on those quotes?

Clinton's EO basically changed a few things in Reagan's EO. Reagan was trying to limit the Federal reach while Clinton was trying to expand it a bit.

Pretty typical considering one is a liberal and one is a conservative. As they say in poker, pretty standard.

My point was Reagan is a conservative and Bush is a conservative, one tries to contract federal powers the other expands them.

In that regard, comparing Reagan to Clinton is the same as comparing Reagan to Bush.

                          So.. not so typical?

I see what you are saying now. The current Bush is definitely not a true conservative. I will tell you it wasn't all Bush. One word Patriot Act.

I think that is why this shirt is spot on.
