Trump cannot be indicted as the President. So why would he resign knowing, absent a pardon, he'll be arrested the second he leaves the White House.

There aren't 66 votes for impeachment, and even if there were, we'd be stuck with Pence. Who is even worse, but not as galvanizing to the left and demoralizing to the right. Which is also the problem with the first scenario, resignation.

The only way to get the country back to any kind of semblance of sanity is for Trump to lose in 2020. That's it. Absent that...we're still fucked.

So yeah, it's cool to see Manafort go to jail, and it's gratifying to see Cohen flip, and if they arrest any of the Trumps or Kushner I'll be happy too. But let's not lose sight of the ball. Trump is a symptom, he's not the disease, and treating a symptom -- however satisfying it may be -- doesn't stop this country's problems.

While every bit of that may be 100% true, I want Trump gone. Pence won't stoke the racial hatred that's building to an all time high and that base could give 2 fucks about him. Plus he's not untarnished. I want to see results and I don't want to wait 2 years to see them. You and I may differ on that but I know we both want better for this country and until it's UNIVERSALLY recognized and noted that Trump is what we know he is I don't see it happening.
