Josh Brolin is a studio fix-it who might be hearing the voice of God. Scarjo is pregnant, but the studio is forcing a husband on her. George Cukor stand-in is being forced to deal with Audie Murphy stand-in.

All the while, Clooney is a dummy who gets lumped in with the Communist Party. A group of blacklisted writers engineer his kidnapping to turn him over to a secret Commie infiltrator (Tatum) who is awaiting his Commander (Lundgren) to return to the LA River in a submarine to whisk them all away.
