    THE MARTIAN and THE WALK were both amazing. What a great weekend at the movies.

      Don't be dumb, go see THE MARTIAN.

      Time to nitpick (not really)-

        Spoiler: book/movie stuff 
      i want a director's cut that includes at least one of the two additional big obstacles Watney faced on Mars. For those who didn't read the book, they skipped the rover flipping and doing a total yard sale on the way to the Ares IV MAV and a huge sandstorm that dropped the efficiency of the batteries and forced Watney to adjust his course and add a bunch of days to his trip to the MAV. It was definitely hinted at with some of those wide shots. It was pretty tense in the book because NASA knew about it but had no way to tell him. There were a bunch of other minor difficulties that were omitted, too, but weren't that big a deal. I guess the biggest problem is that, aside from the fact he's ON MARS, the movie didn't make it seem like he struggled THAT much.

      I also didn't like how Wiig's character, and to a lesser degree Mindy Park, were marginalized. The PR lady had much more to do in the book. But there was a thing in the book where CNN started a weekly Watney Report, which was not in the movie, so there you go.

      One change from the book I really liked was the epilogue on Earth. That wasn't in the book at all and I really wanted to see what happened later.


      Man, what a great movie.

        Those were the exact same thoughts I had between the book and movie, grave. I still loved it though. Amazing.

          I already want to watch it again. But since it's the first entry of Oscar season, I'm sure it won't have the traditional six week to DVD window most movies seem to have these days.

                            Not theater quality at all BUT I will watch because these two are great together. Farrell looks silly even when he's trying to be serious, and Marky Mark looks like he's being super serious even when he's kidding around so it should be fun.
