The Mrs, myself and a pal of ours who let us house-sit his flat for a month while he was away at work are seeing it Saturday afternoon at IMAX Laser screening. Screenings are filling up but it hasn't entirely sold out here like it has, no doubt, for the opening weekend back in the states.
Love the original trilogy (like everyone else, it was religion for me growing up) and didn't mind the prequels but am not losing my shit to the hype. Going in optimistic since the trailers are great and Star Trek is one of the best blockbusters of the last decade. But I recall hearing (friend of a friend bullshit) like a year ago that this was a heavy retread of Star Wars (Sorry but it ain't called A New Hope, it's Star Wars, Goddammit) and seeing more and more footage adds credence to that claim.
