I also prefer the puppet AND the interpretation of the character as originally depicted in TESB. His 'get off my lawn' attitude is awesome.

He was better at being a hermit than Ben. His crazy laugh when he's rifling through Luke's crashsite gear is just a genuinely wonderful moment that relieves tension and tells you the character is absolutely insane.

I miss that Yoda.

I loved his whole attitude in the 'never kept his mind on where..he...was! Hmmph! What...he...was...doing! Hmmph!' scene. Poking Luke with his stick and hmmphing all over the place. It's just great acting from Frank Oz.
