The Disappointments of 2011 and beyond...

2011 was full of a lot of good. Not so much on the great.

That being said...my worst films of the year are as follows:

10) Jack and Jill
9) The Future
8) Beginners
7) Immortals
6) Passion Play
5) I Don't Know How She Does It
4) Abduction
3) The Dilemma
2) Green Lantern
1) Sucker Punch

I rather enjoyed this year in movies. Maybe I've just successfully avoided the stinkers...I haven't seen ANY of the films on Anderson's list, for example.

Thought about revisiting this. Then I came to my senses.

We saw a bunch theatrically, all of which were at least GOOD. We also ended the year with three real winners, so that high may be affecting my opinion of the overall year.

I will say this: this year had two of the best action flicks in years: FAST FIVE and MISSION IMPOSSIBLE GHOST PROTOCOL. That fact alone is reason to celebrate.

God Sucker Punch sucked.

That was what I meant when I listed my disappointment. It was an alright year I suppose, but five years from now I won't remember much from 2011 theatrically.

But I also put my location up to blame for some of the ones I didn't get a chance to see (The Skin I Live In, The Artist, Shame, etc.).

Sucker Punch was the longest shitty music video ever. And I've got Green Lantern from Netflix today so I'll judge that asap I've not seen any of those others on Troy's list. The wife wants to see Immortals but so far I've dodged that bullet. She's a sucker for those style over substance action flicks.

I hear you Russ, but the wife is going to want to watch it. And If I cave now maybe I won't have to for Underworld 3d. She's a sucker for vampire/werewolf flicks and I just don't think I've got it in me to sit through another one of that franchise.
