Ya got to remember that these assholes prior to 9/11 wouldn't give a squirt of piss™ if NYC was on fire. Remember that NYC was considered THE place of sin for a lot of these numbnuts.

I'm FB friends with one of these guys (he's a powerlifter/gym owner), and he's a goddamn racist retard. I just ended up hiding his updates because I didn't want him to be all aggro if I removed him.

          Anyway, yes, fuck this movie.

The book wasn't terrible, it was just rather lackluster.

The whole point of Gilbert's journey is missed in the film as they turn it into a late in life power ego trip for Roberts.

The spiritual aspect is reduced to trivial bits and pieces, while Javier Bardem outshines everyone in the film. Still having seen Scott Pilgrim and this film, it only pisses me off more than Scott Pilgrim will probably lose the weekend.

Don't choke a kitten! Just... don't choke a kitten! It's not the helpless little kitten's fault that this piece of shit was greenlighted. It's not the kitten's fault that Julia Robert's COULD do a decent film, but chooses to keep starring in crap like this. It's not the kitten's fault that this film makes me ashamed to be a woman, because SO many women will want to see this. It's just not the kitten's fault, do you understand?

But damned if they aren't going to keep protesting!!
And THAT'S the moment I knew I was ready to break up with my Canadian boyfriend at the time - the week gay marriage was passed, I was in Toronto, and he was fuming. Just fucking fuming! I said, "Your life is going to change exactly ZERO percent over this." He rants at me, "YOU don't have a child! YOU wouldn't understand!" (he was divorced, and his daughter at that time was 11) I said, "What do you think is going to happen to her? I mean, seriously. Let's say a normal, committed gay couple gets married and moves down the block. What do you think they're going to do - kidnap her and convert her? You really need to just chill out, this isn't about you." He just flared his nostrils at me and wouldn't reply. Anyway, I broke up with him very quickly after that, and that was one of the many reasons - it was like, "Huh, imagine that. Three years with the guy and I had no idea he was a homophobe."

Aaaanyway, this is a much more interesting conversation than some shitty, insulting movie that no one will remember by the time it hits DVD. A movie that should really, in no way, shape or form, make Mike want to choke a kitten (casts a stern eye in Mike's direction).

Never could understand all the hate for stuff that really, ultimately has no effect on me or anyone I know. Gay couples? Got a few in my neighborhood - lesbian couple across the street, two middle aged gentlemen the next street over, young male couple down the street from my folks house, etc. All of 'em are, y'know, nice, considerate, friendly neighbors who are credits to the community. Letting them get married will do only one thing for me - piss off everyone who says they shouldn't, which means I get to be entertained watching folks make assholes of themselves!

Gimme a petition in support of gay marriage to sign, NOW! Hell, give me several!

Back on topic: I'd still make the sweet love to Julia Roberts, no matter how bad this flick sucks - had a thing for her since Erin Brockovich.

That's what makes the results of the trial on prop 8 even sweeter.
