Yeah, my mom and my sister were just lucky that we got snowed in back in Dec. of '76, or they'd have been driving me to Philly to see the Bay City Rollers at some department store appearance - I think it was Gimble's. And actually, it was really sweet - they confessed to me later that they were just going to throw me in the car without telling me what was up, drive to Philly and surprise me, because I hadn't heard about the appearance. So even though I didn't get to see them, I still recognized at age 12 what a cool gesture that was, that they even planned on surprising me that way.

Similar thing happened in '94 I believe where the Power Rangers were showing up at Universal Studios. It was so jammed, my dad decided it was impossible to go.

Meh. I was kind of inured to going through Hell's acre to see a celeb making an appearance when I was a kid. Hey, once you've seen Spider-Man at Toys R Us, and Andy Gibb at Great Adventure... well the bloom is off the rose, so to speak.
