Now wait: ever since the demise of Creature-Corner, I'm woefully out of the loop on horror flicks; is this Thing a remake or a reboot or a sequel or what?
I like the way the line runs up the back of the stocking.
A prequel. Ish. Set before the events of the Carpenter flick (at the Norwegian camp). That said, from what I've seen so far, it seems to ape what happens in the Carpenter film.
We are so accustomed to disguise ourselves to others that in the end we become disguised to ourselves.

If you look carefully in the red-band trailer, you'll see the mofo with the shifted face writhing for a bit... so yes, I'd see it just to see how that poor fucker got worked over.
it COULD be entertaining. If nothing else, I'm pleased to see that they're sticking with the practical effect LOOK for the thing itself and not turning it into a CGI mess.

Basically what I'm saying is that, based on what I've watched so far, we should all listen to Matt more often.

And who the FUCK is Peaches Geldof?
Kellan Lutz's girlfriend?
Doesn't look life-changing, but its the first Eastwood film I've given a shit about in years. DiCaprio + Hammer +Watts + sharp suits, snappy smack talk, Kennedy impressions and gunfire? Do it.
Apart from those things... meh.
Like Eastwood's other works over the past decade, it'll get a free pass. Just on the face value that he directed it.

If the new flick doesn't end with Lars in the helicopter chasing the Thing as a dog, or the first few minutes from the '82 flick, the film fails.
