The movie is about a kid in his 20s and his supposed dream girl. Those of us in our late 20s and up have more than likely been there and we can sit back and say "Man, Scott fucked up going back with Ramona" because we know in the future things probably won't be rosy. But the story was about that emotionally insecure and unprepared Scott (especially pointed out in Book 6) and he thinks that things with Ramona will be hunky dory once he beats the exes. He hints at his annoyance of her being flighty (omg she changed her hair! and her disappearing on him) so we can infer plenty from that.

That makes sense, I just didn't understand the anger at Scott for going with Ramona. The whole story is built on that and I doubt we're going to get a continued story of Scott years down the road."Everything is amazing right now and no one is happy" - Louis C.K.

The anger is because we know Scott fucked up, more than likely. The story emotionally pulled us in, and had a character I think almost everyone here relates to more than a little go with the girl that ultimately is going to fucking decimate him. That's obviously a bit more fleshed out in the book with the reveals of how Scott hurt his exes, and the girls that would be better for him, but it's still in the movie. We're mad because we see ourselves as Scott and Ramona as our ex. We know how the story that won't be told ends.

As I have told Jake, OKC and POF. Get out there and live. Don't worry about being emotionally stunted. People in the 20s are all emotional re-re's. Go have some one night stands, some 4 week dating relationships, find a Ramona to fucking destroy you and then you'll be a lot less emotionally retarded when you man up and rebuild yourself.

I love this fucking movie. It's a rare adaptation that captures the spirit of the original but still allows both entities to exist independently. You can read the books and the movie will still be fresh and unique and vice versa. Amazing how Edgar Wright pulled that off.
And the soundtrack's only $9.99 at Best Buy right now. I think that I shall purchase it.sigpic

Well, as I don't have time to read through this whole thread right now, all I'll say about the film is that I totally loved it. I've never picked up the comic, but I have to say the Wright is totally 3 for 3.Blog Time! http://plasticlovin.blogspot.com/
