            Plus, DOFP is dropping hard and they're feeling the pressure from Marvel.

            As it stands, the only money FOX clears off X-MEN and F4 are the box office and home video receipts. If you can't touch the cash cow merchandising, then you have to speed up production and keep pushing for that opening weekend.

                DOFP dropping off isn't Singer's fault. He delivered a great movie, and it's not his fault that it wasn't scheduled or marketed right.

                    DOFP is kicking ass worldwide (where it matters most for studios) and set to be the second biggest X-Men film domestically. Fox just doesn't want to pay Singer's fee, plain and simple.

                      Yes and no. DOFP is doing better than expected worldwide, but it still isn't the cash cow that FOX expected. Singer has his own issues and those will remain costly.

                      But, a studio doesn't want to go on record as having fired a rather successful director for those reasons.

                      Hence, the sticky pickle.

                              Fox ain't happy with Trank jumping ship to Disney/Lucasfilm. Budget's been slashed (a la what happened to Singer on X-Men) and everyone is openly talking about what a turd it is on set.
