He said he doesn't want to after his experience with the Broccolis. That's where all those silly Fassbender as Bond rumors kicked up. He was in negotiations with the producers, and it went to shit, and he said something along the lines of "I would only do Bond if Fassbender was my Bond...but Craig is fine, and that change won't happen...besides I just made my Bond film with Fassbender" in regards to First Class.

Also on the casting theme, Winter had pointed out that Shaquille O'Neal had wanted to play a part in the first "X-Men" movie, and that Michael Jackson lobbied for the role of Professor Xavier, which was played by Patrick Stewart.
