Just don't ask me to give a shit about them. I don't like that Jackson is only directing because if he hadn't, the whole thing would have fallen apart. I don't like that they're taking a relatively light book and splitting it into two, two and a half hour movies.

I think 2 two hour movies is plenty for the book, I don't know where the fifth hour will really come from unless absolutely nothing at all is culled. The "battle" in the book isn't really a big deal, but there was talk of going into more detail on the "necromancer' and such that are lightly mentioned in Hobbit and more discussed in Simarillion.
