I love how I get the immaturity comments by a guy who spends all CoD4 lobby time burping and another guy who has a hard drive stuffed with porn...and a bobble head collection.

He also did not allow Timbaland to touch anything in the studio this time which should also be a plus. My God that solo album was such shit."Fuck Rob. Also, he has a podcast called Podcaust. Edgy Holocaust humor lulz indeed." - The Faraci

Really like the new Soundgarden clip Billy posted, especially nice to hear Conrell's still got his chops vocally.
Ah, the 90's - grunge was so fucking welcome after all the hair metal and power ballads. I was lucky enough to be in Portland and Seattle the summer when Pearl Jam's Ten broke (1991) and the music scene in Seattle was just getting some notice; I was visiting friends from college at their home in Portland, and while trying to sleep in their living room, I heard the folks in the next house playing and analyzing the album well into the night (it was a reverse Three's Company situation - two guys and a girl; Portland was so laid back then - windows were often left open all night, doors unlocked, folks B.S.ing into the morning, First Thursdays at the art galleries, etc. - great place to be).
Made a sojourn to Seattle that week to catch a bunch of wannabe grunge bands, and you could feel the vibe throughout the city that something special was going on as all eyes were turning towards them as the "next big thing" musically.
Much love to Alice in Chains, Mother Love Bone, Jane's Addiction, L7, Melvins, Babes in Toyland, The Nymphs, etc. I got into Nirvana late, prior to Cobain's downward spiral, but no denying feeling the shockwave they made when Nevermind broke. That whole period, through to the late '90s was also when I really started delving into more alternative bands and most of my concert/club going. Saw some really great shows by Lush, Weezer, Green Day, the Muffs, Caterwaul, Inspiral Carpets, Pixies, Blake Babies (and later Juliana Hatfield and the Lemonheads), Breeders, Belly, late career Swans, etc.Last edited by Timothy225; 09-05-2010, 06:12 PM.
