Yeah, but I can beat Wont Get Fooled Again on Expert Plus. Which means one thing: I fucking rule.

    What's this thread about, anyway?

ETA: Re: Chris' take - I understand; on occasion, yeah, Rush does fall into that pattern in quite a few songs. Ah, but when Peart is in synch with the rest of the band, something quite spiffy occurs. I also agree re: Moon - phenomenal drummer, but he can overpower the song.

Eh, both the riff and the chorus are repetitive enough to annoy me a bit.

TOTALLY agreed. When he's playing THE SONG, he's great. When he's off on a tangent, it becomes the 'Keith Moon Show'. That can get old after a while.

I almost put Peart in a different category, because he's so Jazz influenced. Chamberlain is also, actually, but when I think of the rock drummers I dig the most, it's the ones who can play like a maniac, but still play the song. Pert is amazing, but too often I listen to Rush and hear the "Geddy Part, then the Alex Part, then the Neil Part". That's not a slam on Rush, I like Rush a lot, but that's all prog rock for me. For my personal taste, that has a time and a place.
