You should see the new singer, though. His name's something like Arnell Pineda, and he's this tiny guy from the Phillipines. He sounds identical to Steve Perry...it's SCARY.

It's another 'Rock Star' situation: Neal Schon found him on youtube, playing in a Journey cover band. They flew him out to audition with the band and he fit right in.

The funny thing? They're coming to town with Journey and Foreigner in July.

Night Ranger is the only one of the three bands to have their original singers (Jack Blades and the drummer guy who sings lead on 'Sister Christian). Steve Perry and Lou Gramm are both loooooooooooong gone.

The shit of it is, they're NOT playing our state fair. Oh no...they've actually booked the Excel Energy Center, arguably our best venue for concerts.

Gotta give 'em credit...they're shooting for the moon.

In truth, there was a big ad in the Variety section of today's paper for this concert. Both the wife and I had a good laugh at it, especially over the fact that they're doing it at the Excel Energy Center. I can't see them coming close to selling this gig out over there.
