Caught Porndemic on Showtime Thursday morning - the fallout from the HIV/Marc Wallice scandal and its effect on the 90s porn industry is fascinating to watch.
Plus, it was cool to revisit some of the adult stars of that time, like Ginger Lynn, Sharon Mitchell, Trish Devereaux, and Ron Jeremy in his prime.

is that doc streaming (oh hush) anywhere else? I bet it's a fascinating watch.
If memory serves, he knew he was HIV+ and still kept working for a while.Originally posted by MartinWho the fuck is Kellan Lutz?Originally posted by gravediggerBasically what I'm saying is that, based on what I've watched so far, we should all listen to Matt more often.Originally posted by MartinAnd who the FUCK is Peaches Geldof?

Spaceship Earth. All about the biosphere from the 90s in Arizona. Was obsessed with it as a kid. After watching this, it made me sad. Had no idea it was basically a cult, they lied about being shut off from the world, and just a bunch more nonsense. Fucking hippies man."Looking like Nic Cage dressed in Kurt Cobain's closet. Not DVD/Blu, moreso HBO, but I'm hooked on The Vow. Just marathoned the first couple of episodes this morning, and damn. Watching the rise of Keith Raniere's NXIVM cult and how it's screwed up the lives of the two current narrators, Sarah Edmondson and Mark Vicente, plus almost screwing up the life of Bonnie Piese from Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith is fascinating and pretty heartbreaking.
At the moment, I even feel some sympathy for Allison Mack, as she was invited to join by Nancy Salzman and had interacted with the narrators and Piese. As we're only three episodes into the series, however, I'm betting that sympathy is going to evaporate as we're already hearing about how into the cult she's getting - the branding is first revealed as Episode 2 winds down.
Like Lovecraft Country, HBO's got it's hooks in me again. Can't wait to see the next episode.

Also on HBOMax, watched the '70 concert film they made of Elvis, "That's The Way It Is."
It was so weird to see him in technicolor. I've never really been caught up in that cult of personality, but here they really found some electric moments to showcase what made him such a singular performer (and either hilariously placed stock scream sounds in for his female fans or it was the origin point of said hilarious stock scream sounds).
It was fluff and not nearly as fly on the wall as something like The Last Waltz, but it still found small moments to record that gave an in to the muttonchopped human behind the monolithic image.Me quick one want slow
