You're right, but I'd rather he just move on and do something else. I get tired of these directors doing retreads all the damn time.

Agree with Rob. Why not? If anyone can make the film even more fucked up it's Cronenberg.

I want Croenenberg to do something different. Hell, have him make a sports comedy. I'd pay to see that.

The Red Dawn remake isn't killing my soul so far. In fact, I kinda like the the pic in this link (if true).

As for shit from my childhood that I wouldn't mind seeing slip on a banana peel and fall into the remake vat: Cloak & Dagger.

Ya know, for the kids. There aren't enough of them out there with the delusion that their dad is a secret agent.

Watched the hell out of that flick back in the day. It kinda creeped me out though.
Touch it. Touch my fuzziness! It's like petting a kitten!

I'd still enjoy a updated Monster Squad that doesn't talk down to the kids. Part of the reason I dig the original. And as much as I enjoy it, the closet thing to it for kids now is Van Helsing. And fuck that.

It was definitely darker than the usual kid fare back then (or at least that I recall through these nifty rose-tinted glasses).

It still kinda was when I picked it up last year. Plus, the goddamn creature effects are still awesome.

I agree with Ed's statement. And I also believe remakes should be only be visited because of the following: the first movie was horrible and could have been better or the movie is extremely dated and younger generations can not relate.

They should remake Highlander but tighten up the mythology and not star shitty b-movie icons. They won't top Clancy Brown for a villain but I could see it working with a refined mythology that is a bit more coherent and with less hamming it up.

I'd love to see a Highlander remake, but Justin Lin? Eh, I'm just going to make my own Highlander film with my He-Man toys.

Wanna bet Vin Diesel's in that shit?? Totally flying in the face of reason but fuck it, Highlander's not something I'm going to get amped up over.
