Re: This Day in Movie History...

Well today is a big one. Back in 1980, on this day, I was a little over 5 months old when my favorite film of all time erupted into theaters and blew humanity away with one of the greatest suprises in film history. That's right peoples, today in 1980......

Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back was released!!!

That was one of the first I saw in the theater. I was 2 so I don't remember squat. Saw Jedi 7 times in the theater. I remember that.

Re: This Day in Movie History...

Since the forums will be down for the next few days, I'm going to bust out an extended edition today

On May 23, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (my favorite of the series) was released in 1984.

On May 24, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was released in 1989.

On May 25, Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope was released in 1977, Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi was released in 1983, and Alien was released in 1979. May 25 kicks all kinds of ass.

Today we have two huge biggies:

On this day in 1981, Raider of the Lost Ark came out!

And on this day in 1987, we, "got to the chopper" when Predator came out!

Fuck, the eighties were sure great.

No time can compare to the 80's in terms of popcorn cinema.

I still remember seeing Predator in the theater and how excited I was when we left. I still watch the hell out of that movie. I think it might be Arnold's best all-around movie.

Man, I need to start a Ahnold thread with a poll for all of his movies. I think Hercules in New York may be his best.
