ETA- If you're ever on the fence about transfers and such, the bluray site of all things is just an amazing resource for technical bluray reviews; they usually do a pretty in-depth job discussing quality vs older dvd versions (when applicable) and tons of high res photos for reference. This site saved me from picking up some really shit transfers of stuff I would have grabbed on blu for sure, so it's worth double checking anything you're curious about

I'll go in for Dark Knight and Casino Royale. The IMAX stuff in Dark Knight is mind blowing on my 50". And Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace are both beauts.

Not sure what's available on Blu-Ray, but what about stuff like "The Lost Boys"? "Reservoir Dogs" and "Pulp Fiction"? And you have to get "The Wizard of Oz" for the kids.

On the more classy side, great films that also look mind-blowing on blu are There Will Be Blood and Goodfellas. GF especially gave me a whole new appreciation for the lighting in that film seeing it on blu the first time.

TV wise, can't go wrong with Band of Brothers, The Pacific and Mad Men. They look gorgeous.
