The problem being there's nothing actually happening: Here's Tanner, here's his daughter, here he gets ignored, repeat.

I remember when 'Tanner '88' originally ran on HBO (I was 18). I watched a couple of episodes here and there and was not impressed. It seemed like a clever idea that wasn't fully realized or thought out.

Tanner '88 was co-created by Gary Trudeau who did Doonesberry. Can anyone ever say they actually enjoyed that comic?
