  • Decided to stay in tonight and have a triple feature.

Rest Stop, Henry:Portrait of a Serial Killer and Battle Royale.

I'm drunk and tired and will have my witty commentary on these flicks tomorrow. I had seen them all except for Rest Stop. And I have to say, Rest Stop is a must own....

      • We differ on opinions on this one. I posted my thoughts in the Zack and Miri thread. Also,
And I have to say, Rest Stop is a must own....
        I'M TOTALLY JOKING.

I was going to do this whole thing where I hyped this movie up on here and the next cast and maybe some of you would take the bait and rent it or god forbid buy it....

Stear fucking clear from this piece of shit. The only saving grace?

JOEY 'WHOA" LAWRENCE dies in the most over the top, horribly scripted sequence in the film. Plus, this film didn't make a lick of sense,...at all. Seriously, and this is coming from the kid who adores Troma films. 1-2 decent, super quick, gore shots. But I was totally fucking bored. Although it was fun to make fun of.

Henry: Potrait of a Serial Killer is still awesome. It had been years since I had seen it, but Tom Towles and Michael Rooker own in this flick. Especially Rooker.

Battle Royal. I still fucking love this movie. If you haven't seen it, go netflix it right now.

All in all, was a good triple feature.

        • Just watched Crumb. Wow. Forgot Lynch directed this. Makes sense. Weird and twisted.
Touch it. Touch my fuzziness! It's like petting a kitten!

          • Lynch didn't direct Crumb. It was Terry Zwigoff (sp?) same guy who did Bad Santa. I fucking love Crumb. That guy is a genius.

Tried to watch I am Legend again. Nope, still fucking sucks and makes me angry.

            • I know im late on the date, but on Friday was at Ari's and we watched: The Thing and Slither. Saturday night we watched The Nightmare Before Christmas on Bluray, still good and on blu was awesome... Tonight we watched inside man, good flick and a little confusing at some parts, but I still enjoyed it..

                • Watched Battlefield Earth over the weekend.

                  Just kiddin'.

I did watch the shittiest bunch of slasher flicks from the main franchises though.

Halloween 3. Tom Atkins. Robots. Killer TV theme tunes. Dead kids. Best of the bunch I watched.

Friday the 13th: Jason Takes Manhattan. Holy shit, Paramount couldn't be any cheaper if they tried. And no, stopping at the end of a long and quite shitty cruise to land in NYC for the last reel doesn't count as taking anything, Jason. Unless it means taking my time and shitting directly upon it.

And, of course, Freddy's Dead. Not even Yaphet Kotto could save it. Nor Lisa Zane. Nor the "before they made Garfield and Garfield 2: The Tail of Two Kitties" appearance of Breckin Meyer. Nor Johnny Depp being hit in the face by a frying pan. Actually, that was the best of the bunch.

What saved it for me was the glimpses of Fred pre-burned and still a pedophile.

                    • Also amusing was the fact that he and Mister Rogers shopped at the same store back when Freddy was still alive...still touchin' kids.

                      • Had a good movie weekend...

                        - Day of the Dead Remake...complete ass, there were a few decent moments but shit for the most part. Kinda lame that they stole the names of the people from the original.
                        - OG Day of the Dead...not my favorite zombie flick, but pwns the remake.
-The Mist...great flick, fucking horrid ending. Kinda had a feeling something would happen like that but shit still blew my mind...will be watching again in B&W.
                        - The Hulk...fucking love this movie, got it in Blu...will be watching a few more times.
                        - Iron Man...love this shite...
                        - Brazil...finally finished this, meh. Whatever, I guess it was okay. Didn't really like it too much. Wasn't shit either, maybe I need to watch it a few times to fully comprehend everything. Who knows...

DotD- Still awesome, watched it last week
The Mist- best horror flick in last few years. Black and White > Color
The Hulk- Fucking greatness on Blu
Iron Man- Worked better for me the second time
                          Brazil- not for everyone.

                            • i agree brazil isn't for everybody but it's a movie that everyone should experience at least once. honestly though, it's just one of those movies that you either like or don't like. multiple viewings won't change the way you understand the movie. it's just a depressing movie behind awesome cinematography.

and if you dug the movie, check out its history.

also, if you didn't like the ending, you might like the love conquers all version. which is rubbish compared to the original.

                              • Yeah I borrowed Ari's Criterion version which had the love conquers all version. Honestly I liked the movie but didn't quite get the ending. If it's as simple as what you are all saying then that makes is more betterz. I thought it looked great and there were some awesome parts, and if the ending is meant to be depressing it nailed it. I would like to see this again in blu.
