MST3K had a similar bit in which anytime a character jumped out front of the camera. One of the guys would always yell "MANNIX".

- anytime there was a fog machine going, they'd go off on a Ridley Scott tangent.
- whenever scientists (always in white lab coats, of course) walked across a room, they'd all chant 'WE ARE SCIENTISTS' in order to give thema a purpose.Originally posted by MartinWho the fuck is Kellan Lutz?Originally posted by gravediggerBasically what I'm saying is that, based on what I've watched so far, we should all listen to Matt more often.Originally posted by MartinAnd who the FUCK is Peaches Geldof?

And always great, Tom Servo's "Dun Dun Dun EAT IT MOVIE!....." as he goes into this long rant.
Speaking of Torgo, a very good friend of Randall's went as Torgo one year for Halloween. And of course, no one knew who he was."Everything is amazing right now and no one is happy" - Louis C.K.

Green Zone
Matt Damon is again the fucking Man, and Greengrass is also the Man. Even if you know the ending (duh), it's a solid flick. Love how they used Jason Isaac as another badass.
Altitude
Cute concept, poor movie. Felt like an Outer Limit episode. Could have used some female-on-female fisting with Vin directing them.BACONBACONBACONBACONBACONBACONBACONBACONBACONBACON

I'm really unwell, so I've done nothing but watch films today. In order:
Monsters
Jesus - from a filmmaker's perspective, this was just depressing. I have no idea how Gareth Edwards pulled off what he did but he is to be commended. Anyone who liked District 9 should like this (though don't expect any action scenes). Its a very gentle, but atmospheric love story set against an alien infestation. The effects are good (it pisses on Skyline) but its the location work that is really staggering. Edwards is a man to watch and I believe he's taking on Godzilla next. On this evidence, that would be slumming it.
El Secreto de sus Ojos (The Secret in their Eyes)
Every bit as good as The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo or Tell No One, this was a very, very well-made crime film. Performances were great, writing smart and the central set-piece has to be seen to be believed. The best, yet unobrtusive camerawork I've seen in a long time. The final reveal felt totally earned and this was just a classy, sometimes shocking film through and through. Highly recommended.
Maverick
Hadn't seen this all the way through since '94 in the cinema and you know what? I really enjoyed it. Its light as a feather and about 15 minutes too long, but its pretty charming and Richard Donner's touch is a lot lighter than in anything he's made since LW3. That scene with Danny Glover is fucking AWFUL though.
Dangerous Days
Another one that I don't think I ever watched all the way through, this is one of the most thorough and satisfying retrospective documentaries about the making of a film (Blade Runner) that I've ever seen. And the reason its so good is that it really gets into it - all the trouble in making and releasing and revising the film, the tension, the differing opinions, they get into it all instead of just sucking Ridley Scott's dick (though they certainly nuzzle it from time to time). Darabont tearing the voiceover a new one while Guillermo del Toro defends it was great, but really its just a fascinating retrospective on one of my favourite films. If you're not into BR, skip it obviously, but otherwise, if you haven't seen this yet get on it - its part of the 5-disc boxset that includes the final cut, but I imagine it must be on the final cut Blu too?I experienced an invasion of my mind by a transcendentally rational mind, as if I had been insane all my life and suddenly I had become sane.

Same here Ben. I'll watch it tonight.
The Book of Eli
Way better than I expected it to be, considering it's a bible movie. But it's much more than that, and the cinematography was stunning.BACONBACONBACONBACONBACONBACONBACONBACONBACONBACON

I liked it too, Martin. Mila Kunis was the only weak link in the film; she didn't have the chops or the presence that her part needed to be convincing. Everything else was great, though.Originally posted by MartinWho the fuck is Kellan Lutz?Originally posted by gravediggerBasically what I'm saying is that, based on what I've watched so far, we should all listen to Matt more often.Originally posted by MartinAnd who the FUCK is Peaches Geldof?
