  • And The Quiet American,

Noyce has always been one of those guys that tends to do pretty good work over the years.

    Rickles may disagree on this.

    • Let's not forget it was a vehicle for Brandon "Step by Step" Call as well.

Noyce is the consumate journeyman director. I wonder how his latest will (pun incoming) shake out.

Agree with Hocketown on it: check out The Quiet American if you haven't.

      • He was the dude that got shot in the arms right? Not the Russian who was busted beating his wife?

            • The guitar-centric doc It Might Get Loud.

Must be heard in surround. When I got to the sequence where Jimmy Page plays the opening lick to "Whole Lotta Love" and saw Jack and the Edge light up like the Griswold homestead, I was grinning like an idiot right along with them.

The intercutting of the three jamming with snippets of their personal styles and influences was so much fun to see it all weave in and out of the varying contexts. I wish it were longer than 97 minutes.

Loved it. I kinda wish there were more sessions or installments of it.

I really loved the shit out of this and I'm not anything remotely approaching a guitarist.

                  • Just watch him play.

You lose track of all that negative shit when you see them sit down/stand up and play.

I wonder how many strings he breaks over the course of a song. He strums fucking HARD.

                        Matt's just on another wavelength.

One that doesn't include Ruby Rod, fun, or Gary Oldman's elephantine anime hug pillow...or Jack White.

I'm with you Matt. I know nothing about him but his music, and I can't stand a single strum I've heard he make. And I'm not a big fan of Edge either. I wish this was made 10 or 15 years ago with Pagey, Zakk Wylde, and Chris DeGarmo or John Petrucci or something. Jack White just, ugh, DO NOT WANT.

                              • Tried to watch Two-Lane Blacktop.

Damn this movie was boring. Looked nice, boring as all shit.

I can see why Linklater likes this movie so much because nothing happens.

Although points goes to Warren Oates for being Warren Oates.
