I was same way. I enjoyed The Fisher King but Fear and Loathing... uh no. I wanted to like it because of Benicio Del Toro and one of my students said it was her favorite movie. I didnt make it through it.

        • I think the reason people such as myself enjoy Fear And Loathing so much is that most of us were heavy drug users at one point.

          Not sure about Ed, though...

Sounds like the strongest thing he's ever taken was Motrin.

I loved Fear and Loathing because at the time I fell into a heavy Hunter Thompson obsession at the time.

Watching that movie and Run Lola Run, blew my mind.

You fucking people are so old that you can't enjoy a 65 year old's take on a nearly 40 year old book.

Too much stimulus for you? Well, drink your Metamucil.

                  • Yeah, people that hate Fear And Loathing frighten me. IT's one of Gilliam's best works.

                    • Fucking LOVE Gilliam. I have not seen Tideland or Parnassus yet, but there isn't anything of his I consider a waste of time. Even Grimm has its charms. I have championed Munchausen since I was a kid. I think it was the first film that I remember getting press as a huge fucking megaflop, and people hated on it all the time. I would rent it over and over and over and force people to watch it.

EDIT: Watched Slapshot for the first time in years last night. I was probably like 9 the last time I watched it. In my mind the Hansons had much larger roles, and were much more iconic than they actually are. I also noticed that in the league they played in the home team wears white, and visitors wear dark colors, which is the opposite from the NHL and most other hockey leagues. Any hockey bred members able to shed light on that?

                          • Trying to watch the 1979 Elvis biopic with Kurt Russell. This movie is exactly a serious version of Walk Hard.

                            • COUPLES RETREAT- Yeah, this wasn't as funny as it should have been. Kind of a bummer. Also, this is two movies I've seen where Malin Akerman doesn't get naked. I consider this a disturbing trend.
