    • Just watched the first two eps of Mad Men Season 3. The scene where Sal was getting some action was some hot shit. Plus, Peggy Olson singing infront of the mirror was really cute.

Also, Roger Sterling's line to the new British Boss:

"Ya ever get three sheets to the wind and wear that thing?"

I couldn't stop lolling. He was just like "NYYYUUUUNNGGHHH"

Also, The Runaways was pretty good, even if it did turn into a fucking cautionary tale halfway through.

        • Some commentor at The Onion A.V. Club said that Sal had set the gay alarm off in the hotel.

Juevenile, I know. But I still laughed.

How was Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett? She certainly has the 'look' down in the still photographs.

                  • I had drastically lowered my expectations going in, so I was actually pleasantly surprised that she was alright. It was sorta sad that she ended up getting a little peppier right at the very end (during the Bingenheimer interview about the Blackhearts), but whattaya gonna do?

                    • I wonder if there was a cut scene showing Steve Jones nailing Joan Jett in a bathroom stall?

                      • Jennifer's Body.

I expected to be disappointed and disappointed I was. I liked the story - that's what drew me to it, more than anything - and I appreciated the tone Cody was going for, but she just didn't hit it. There were one too many attempts at instant Heathers-level quotability and the script just isn't good enough for that.

Adam Brody was a lot of fun, particularly during the ritual scene. Aesthetically, the film's main components looked nice, despite their massive familiarity. It must be very tricky to make high schools and Misc. American Suburbia interesting for filmmakers, but there was a lot to like here, particularly the quite grimy, autumnal palette. Little moments like the kid's body being led across the football field while his parents cry were also very atmospheric.

Aside from his brief role in The Spirit, Chip is the most I've seen of Johnny Simmons. While I didn't have a problem with him, and I'm looking forward to seeing his Young Neil, I'm not nearly convinced he's the only choice for Spider-Man (Aaron Johnson all the way!)

Probably my favourite piece of acting in the whole film came from Seyfried. The way Needy enjoys Chip's jealousy of the gothy kid after they've been talking had just the right amount of love and validation to keep it from being really irritating. It's a hard sell, but she nailed it.

Just watched this. That's exactly the issue. This movie didn't know what the fuck it wanted to be. Somethings were fucking great: "Why doesn't it sound that way coming out of my mouth? Meatdrapes..." and most of what came out of Michael Clarke Duncan's mouth. But overall this was just a mess.
