  • No. And I completely forgot that Carrey was in Eternal Sunshine. Well, it's the 1st Carrey COMEDY I enjoyed. Mind you, having Zooey Dechanel (so fuckable!) and Bradley Cooper and TERENCE STAMP helps.

    • I watched Beware: Children at Play. Ohhhh boy, what a pile of shit. But I had totally forgotten about the famous ending, so once it began, me and my buddies were laughing our heads off. Seriously, youtube the ending to the film now if you haven't seen it yet. I know Chud had it as like the top child kills in film history or something, and it really is fucking insanely awesome.

        • Fucking old-school Amicus-produced Tales from the Crypt with Ralph Richardson and Patrick "I shit my pants whenever I hear 'Singing in the Rain'" Magee.

From the Toccata and Fugue graveyard opening, to Joan Collins getting choked out by a serial killer dressed as Santa, to Peter Cushing becoming an avenging ghoul who rips out his neighbor's heart (and writes a fucking limerick in blood), it was a retro treat for this Anglophile.

            • Che; Steven Soderbergh went super epic with this film. I have read a number of books about Che and the defining one is by Jon Lee Anderson who was the chief consultant on the film. It was done really well and the scenery was beautiful to boot. My honest opinion is that this film is aimed at a niche group that is super down with one of the following: 1.Communism (although it does not touch the topic much) 2.Latin American History 3.Military Buffs 4.Che Guevara...if you're not interested in any of those topics it's not really a great movie for you.

              2. The Hurt Locker; one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. The emotion and suspense captured in this film is truly something. Renner is fucking batshit insane but is very believable. I have never been in the military but I can imagine, this paints a somewhat decent picture of some of the shit Bomb Techs and other specialists may face in country.

              • I had no idea that Che was out on disc until I saw it at Best Buy last week. I need to get it onto my Netflix.

                • It's available streaming right now too...my advice if you really dig the guy buy it. If not make sure to see it on Blu as the environments are truly stunning.

                  • My only problem with The Hurt Locker is the lack of a character arc for Renner's character IMO. Also I'll never watch it again probably, so that's another problem. And yes I know I'm in the minority. Was one hell of a beautiful looking/directed film though.

Best part of the movie for me.

Aside from that webbed bomb trap at the beginning. HOLY SHIT that was tense.

                          • He's spent the whole film disarming bombs...by the end of the film, he has discovered that the only bomb that he can't disarm is himself.

                            • That was the whole point to him, is that he was so entrenched in his job that it was an obsession for him. He was never going to be any good at stable things, as that stable life held nothing for him but boredom and quiet.

It's not often a good static character shows up, but Sgt. James was outstanding.

(And at least over there, he didn't have to clean the goddamn gutters.)
