Holy fuck. I just got done watching the Mist I scored from the BiMonSciFiContest. If for no other reason, I am glad I discovered the podcaust to see this flick.
I remember seeing the trailer for it and blowing it off as another of the stupid horror movies of that time - I mean for real, the trailer showed lots of tentacles like it was some sort of hentai flick. I am glad I was wrong.
a. I can't imagine this in color. The Black and White version was amazing.
b. If I didn't know it was CG, I would have sworn the monsters were out of that piece of shit movie Evolution. Eitherway, I am glad it didn't get too goddamn ridiculous. It was the perfect amount.
c. Tom Jane is awesome. I thought he was awesome in Punisher and he was outfuckingstanding in this.
Seriously, if you have not seen this (especially the B&W version), SEE IT!!!!Turd Stick.... http://www.blainegarrett.com
Krapp's Last 'Cast.... http://www.krappslastcast.com

yeah, for sure. But, common, at least for a second, you thought they were going to kill them with head and shoulders didn't you? Sorry, SPOILER for anyone who might have not seen that piece of shit Evolution. haha.
p.s. The final track is by one of my fav groups - Dead can Dance.

Lisa Gerrard (one half of DCD) went on to do a lot of soundtrack work including the Gladiator. DCD is pretty damn rad.
Another amazing track... The build is something out of a epic metal song almost.

I dunno man, I dug the hell outta the designs in both Evolution (whose original script was way better than the POS we got in theaters) and the MIST. Especially the Bohemoth."Looking like Nic Cage dressed in Kurt Cobain's closet. I mean that as a compliment" - BillyG

oh yeah. the chraracter design was rad. I think Evolution just left a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe I should go back and watch it again. But yeah, any time I see re-visioned earthish animals (the bugs, spiders, etc) I think they are nitrogen based ala Evolution. hehe. That wasn't evene a criticism of the movie, but more so a weird association I had. Maybe Tom jane needs to fight David Dachovney. hahaha. Punisher/Mulder ass to ass.
Again, the MIST is fucking awesome. Watch.Turd Stick.... http://www.blainegarrett.com
Krapp's Last 'Cast.... http://www.krappslastcast.com

finished watching the thing last night along with green for danger.
can't believe i held off on watching the thing for so long. i thought i had seen it before when i was a kid so i didn't really bother. stupid me. the movie was so awesome as were the creature designs, especially the [possible spoiler... maybe... well, if you were me prior to yesterday it would be a spoiler...] "blair monster," which has to be one of the most terrifying monsters i've seen in a movie in the recent years. the mood and atmosphere of this movie was just amazing. although i really enjoyed this flick, i have to admit that my favorite carpenter movie is still big trouble in little china.
green for danger is a 1940s murder mystery with great actors/actresses, who could emote their way through a german expressionist film. the sets were great and the atmosphere of the film went well with the plot. didn't like how the identity of the killer was presented since none of the info is given until that very point but the ending was still good as is the overall film. not a movie i would really recommend unless you're a film buff.<O</O

Dude, you had never seen The Thing?
Redonkulous.
And while I love Big Trouble in Little China, nothing in his body of work comes close to The Thing. Nothing."Looking like Nic Cage dressed in Kurt Cobain's closet. I mean that as a compliment" - BillyG
