fun fact, i tried wiki'ing "shocker" and i get this as the main article on google.
Well it was a Wes Craven flick.

Began to watch There Will be Blood on blu last night. MAde it half way through before we decided to take a break. Great flick so far, just a tad long for a sunday night movie.

    • It was the weekend of CG kid flicks for me!

Watched TMNT and Kung Fu Panda. Liked Panda more, due to the story line. The 13 creatures and stone villians was just kinds meh for the Turtles. Why not go with Krang, if you're going to do some kinda different villian? Oh well, it looked great on Blu.

        • Finished There Will Be Blood.

Have to say, No Country was better IMO.

          • Just saw the HBO doc on Roman Polanski.

Rather interesting facts surrounding the case he was embroiled in before he skipped town. The judge sure was a douche, who kind of looked like Jack Valenti crossed with Earl Warren.

To say certain directorial choices weren't manipulative is an understatement. Still, it was an engrossing documentary.

Earlier, I went to see The Strangers. A pretty amazing first half, which sort of spiraled into a bit of a messy conclusion. Afterward, I saw Michael Haneke's remake of his film Funny Games. An odd, yet very interesting companion piece to the former, especially in terms of what the message to Funny Games U.S. was communicating. If only I had the wherewithal to go to the store and get the third home invasion film: Ils ("Them").

I agree, but DDL was great.

                            • I swear there were parts where he sounds exactly like Sean Connery. I kept waiting for him to say something about Alcatraz!

                              • I have been moving so I have not had much chance to consume the movies from my Bi-Mon-Sci-Fi Con plunderings, but I did watch Nightmare 3 and Monster Squad.

Monster Squad was pretty damn rad. I definitly dug it in spite of not seeing it back in the day - still rad. Kicking people in the nards never gets old. I have to say though, that Nightmare 3 was less than awesome in my opinion. Perhaps it is one of those cases where I would appreciate it more had I seen it back in the day... However, the wizard kid was pretty damn funny. The nurse seducing the self induced mute kid was pretty hot. Oh how often as a kid did I want to be seduced by an 80s porno looking nurse chick. Oh and seeing Larry Fishmaster in his early days was cool too.

Also, speaking of Roman Polanski, I watched the 9th Gate a few weeks back. I thought it was pretty rad, in spite of bad reviews and a "meh" ending. Depp totally bangs the Whore of Babylon. The only thing more epic would be if Depp tagged Jesus' girlfriend Magdalena. People need to do more historical fiction based on the bible. hahahaha. Moses and Noah ass to ass. Fuck yeah.
