Wolf of Wall Street
This is Scorceses masterpiece and the perfect capper to his American gangster trilogy after Goodfellas and Casino. There is not a single bad performance, Margot Robbie is a revelation, it is funny as fuck, amoral as the issue at hand and the final scene is such a sublime damnation of our times. We have been Trump before we got trumped.Last edited by Jan; 07-02-2018, 04:13 PM.

I'm also of a mind to revisit Wolf of Wall Street, as it's been far too long and I need a Scorcese fix.
Recently watched the Mummy, Dark Universe version. It was.... ok. Some good ideas and visuals and obvious shared universe building, but I could not get behind Tom Cruise's character at all. It's like he just skimmed over the Robert Downey Jr. playbook instead of giving it a good once over.
Good callbacks to the far superior Brendan Fraser Mummy flicks, which had a more classic monster feel than this one did. Still, I'm joining Rob on the Sofia Boutella love train - she dominates every scene she's in, though I kept mentally comparing her to the Enchantress in Suicide Squad from a year before.
I love the idea of a shared universe featuring the Universal monsters, as those characters were my gateway to anything and everything horror related when I was a 70s era monster kid. Universal just needs to get their shit together and plan properly.

While a senior in college, my roommmate and I attended one of Belfort's seminars that he conducted after getting out of prison.
The film's finale is so spot-on that it transcends film.
The Irishman was supposed to be November this year, but it's bumped to 2019. Special FX went over. Yeah, the FX did it.My readers come to me for my thoughts and opinions. I've built myself into a brand
