When viewing it through the lens of it being an unconscious confessional of sorts for Aronofsky it is a mix of sad and hilarious, at least in so much as he seems too in love with his own voice to realize he's doing it at all.
Lawrence is one in a line of new doe-eyed hopefuls to be used and abused for the director's own ludicrous vision.
