GOOD MORNING, VIETNAM (on Netflix)

I was talking with the wife unit last week about Robin Williams, and I mentioned GMV to her. I was blown away to find out that she had never seen it, so I was pleased to discover that it was on Netflix now.

It holds up pretty damned well, and Williams is as great as I remember. I forgot how much of a dick J.T. Walsh was in this, and it was a lot of fun to watch him go into full-on asshole mode.

Anyways, the wife really liked it. Very entertaining film that is able to balance the different tones very skillfully.

Walsh had more asshole roles, but Atherton's Peck and and Richard Thornburg are fucking ALL TIME GREAT assholes.

Walsh was the best part of Outbreak. And it was just a single fuckin' scene.

It was a different sort of asshole. It was the bureaucrat wagging his finger. A rare cinematic asshole with any depth to it.
