You know what's fun about that scene since it's silent? Is doing a play by play of the action as soon as it goes slow-mo. "Okay, you ready for this? HERE COMES ANDY GARCIA, whipping around the corner, a gun in each hand! He throws Costner a fresh gun, and SIMULTANEOUSLY throws his body under the baby carriage and holds Capone's man at bay with the gun in his free hand!"

Even when Naked Gun did it, it was awesome.

It just a burst of pure energy. I guess this is what you guys felt with that fucking Speed Racer movie. Heck, I'd be probably be raving about it too if it wasn't so retarded with that fat piece of shit and his monkey.

Casino Royale (1967), a parody Bond movie in the same vein as A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, World, where it was more of an excuse to throw in cameos from big-name stars of the era. Story-wise, it's quite all over the place, with several subplots, tons of James Bonds, mockeries of all spy movie tropes, and at its end becomes a huge farce of a film.

I did learn that part of the reason the flick didn't work that well, especially with some of the transition scenes, was due to Peter Sellers. Turns out he was in a bit of a feud with Orson Welles (he played Le Chiffre) for a bunch of reasons, Sellers wanted to play his version of Bond straight instead of as a comedic performance, etc. Eventually Sellers either walked or was fired before all the shoots with his character were finished. Just a mess, and the Flint series did a much better job of making fun of the spy genre.

"Beautiful Girls". It was on IFC last night, it's a fine movie with a great cast, and most importantly, if you think I'm going to pass up an opportunity to sit and watch my Matt Dillon for two and a half hours, you're off your fucking rocker.
