Had he not been outshined by Val, everyone would be talking about HIS iconic turn as Doc.Originally posted by MartinWho the fuck is Kellan Lutz?Originally posted by gravediggerBasically what I'm saying is that, based on what I've watched so far, we should all listen to Matt more often.Originally posted by MartinAnd who the FUCK is Peaches Geldof?

Open Range never really gets much props. I know someone mentioned it before, but goddamn the gunfight at the end is one of the most visceral bits of action I've seen. You're IN that gunfight mother fucker! Want that on Blu so badly for the sound..
I actually dug out all the Westerns I own (sadly not many) to watch in anticipation of RDR: Fistful of Dollars, OUATITW, Proposition, Open Range, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and a glorious Blu Unforgiven.
Shit, I'll probably watch The Good, the Bad, the Wierd as well. I think that movie blows Sukiyaki Western Django out of the water in the Eastern Western department.XBL/PSN/Steam Gamertag - CalgaryRonin

I need to watch 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid' again. I've watched it a couple of times and honestly never 'gotten' the appeal of it. It's been a long time since my last viewing of it, though.Originally posted by MartinWho the fuck is Kellan Lutz?Originally posted by gravediggerBasically what I'm saying is that, based on what I've watched so far, we should all listen to Matt more often.Originally posted by MartinAnd who the FUCK is Peaches Geldof?

Edited to add: I don't care how much shit it gets me, Lonesome Dove even though it is like 32425 hours long is still awesome as well.Last edited by B_Metal; 05-13-2010, 09:29 PM."Fuck Rob. Also, he has a podcast called Podcaust. Edgy Holocaust humor lulz indeed." - The Faraci

Not that this will raise anything other than half-a-fart of a query of "Who gives a shit," but I've started watching Deadwood again.
As well and good (and ridiculously iconic) as western films have been, I've got to say that I have come to appreciate the genre even more when the story is given to intrigue in a depiction of the times heretofore rarely seen.
Whether it is because there has been a smattering of these tales that were given to resisting the urge to deconstruct the mythology of some of the more widely known people or events, or it is just because the small handful that have done them right have done them sofa king right, I find such an approach suits the genre quite well.
Which is exactly why this show (beginning with the last days of Wild Bill), as well as the film Ass...James...Ford are rare commodities to be enjoyed. And terms such as "squarehead", "hoopleheads" and "celestial" thankfully enter into the modern lexicon. So it ain't half bad.
Rereading what I just typed, I'm just typing to type at this point. Hell if that isn't dull and self-important.
It'd probably need to be tagged in the other thread, but I'm far too lazy to use hotkeys at this time of day.
So here: Go watch some fucking Deadwood, Rob, and fucking enjoy.Last edited by Captain Russ; 05-26-2010, 10:56 PM.Me quick one want slow

Deadwood's glorious. Best $70 I ever spent."Here, young man, your hormones are raging. Let's go in this bedroom, and we'll engage in some homosexual acts. You'll find you like it." - Rep. Ken Peterson, R-Billings
"You're born alone and you die alone and this world just drops a bunch of rules on top of you to make you forget those facts. But I never forget. I'm living like there's no tomorrow, because there isn't one." - Don Draper
