Or alongside? Either way, that's some serious machismo in play.

        Ed... Ed... Ed.

Yes... they are slow. Indeed, they do shamble. But do you remember the elevator scene?

It's called sheer weight of numbers. It would be akin to America going to war with China. Do we have the tech? Of course. Do we have better training? Certainly.

But we could have a kill ratio of 20 or 30 to one... AND STILL FUCKING LOSE!

Do you get it, Ed? Are you with me on this?

I liked how we are already dropped in to the crisis but my ultimate complaint is this:

The people in this movie outside of Ken Foree ARE THE DUMBEST MOTHERFUCKERS OF ALL GODDAMN TIME.

Plus, we have no idea who these people are. So because I have no idea who they are and they are uninteresting dumbfucks (Except the Doctor, movie should have been about him). I don't care what happens. And with how slow and shambling the zombies are in this movie. I don't see how you can get killed unless you do something really REALLY stupid.

Dude it's not about the zombies being the things they should be afraid of. It's about us as a species. And how when left to the darkness, alot of us are really just horrible people inside and are way worse than any undead creature. The fact that they easily got away from the zombies and were living the "high life" for a while was great. They became complacent. That's when the bikers show up and did way more damage than any zombie could do. That was I also enjoy the remake. It takes any subtext away and gives us NU-METAL ZOMBIE ATTACKS. Which I'm fine with. And I'm not quite sure why you think they are uninteresting dumbfucks. Excpet Roger. He pulled quite the boner move. But he paid for it.

I get that the humans were complacent in the mall just like the folks on the tv. But these people were making dumbass decisions before they got there. It didn't help that flyboy was pissing away ammo at nothing while the zombie was coming right at him in the boiler room.

If we knew more about these people, I'd care. But because I don't, it's like "Okay, dumbfuck mcgee just got himself into this one".

Plus, what was with the dumbass biker at the blood pressure machine?

If you get that they were complacent and started to settle in to a fake life, then you should understand that it doesn't matter how slow the zombies are. Eventually they will kill each other. The way you phrased that up above made me think you didn't understand the movie past "people in mall with zombies".

I do, but with faster zombies I can feel the threat and danger. This? Only reason you could get killed is by doing something dumb.

I'm glad Shaun of the Dead really improved on this. It makes me appreciate Edgar Wright even more. That man can direct.

Also, it would have helped had we known where do the bikers come from or seen them stiring shit up earlier. That felt very out of place when they showed up out of nowhere.

Basically, Romero is the George Lucas of horror. He has ideas but other people should have executed them.

Bunch of goddamn dummies around here.

Well we can agree to disagree then. And Shaun of the Dead wouldn't be around if it wasn't for Romero. RESPECT YOUR GODDAMN ELDERS.

That's very true, but Romero isn't very good at it. All the more reason, homages and remakes are welcome.

As Rob stated above, it is social commentary. The Zombies and the ammo are not the point per se.

Hey, I saw the movie and I fulfilled my part of the bargain. I'm not going out of my way to shit on it. I didn't really care for it.

Yeah, I get the commentary also. That doesn't make up for the weaknesses, that makes it seem like a pass is being given.

Also, when Foree shot the zombie kids. I had an Assault on Precinct 13 moment.
