So this weekend the girl and I were able to watch some more flicks in Blu-ray thanks to Netflix. We checked out Planet Earth which was fucking gorgeous. I was pretty much glued to the tv for 3 hours watching that. Bears and Puma's for the fucking win. We also watched Ratatoouie. Goddamn does Pixar kick ass. The colors and animation in that movie were a thing of beauty. Hopefully this weekend I can dive into the Close Encounters deluxe set I have.

becareful of what blu-ray movies you purchase... from what i've read, it sounds like studios will definately be double dipping. reference: http://gizmodo.com/364342/here-comes...g-with-bd+live. so if you really don't care about special features, you'll be fine.
oh and from the other thread, i know you have a ps3... but for those that want a blu-ray player and don't want to get a ps3, please read up on blu-ray 2.0 player specs. you can find more info here: http://gizmodo.com/361809/stop-why-i...to-buy-blu+ray. -

I just got the standard 5 disc set. Which is the same as the briefcase set, just without all the extra crap. I've noticed that I'm not collecting shit to just collect shit as much anymore. Which I think my girl enjoys. haha. i opted out of the blu-ray and hddvd set of planet earth when i found out that both didn't have the 20-30+ hours of extras that the regular dvd set offered. lame.Comment

i say stick to dvds for now... especially since the ps3 upconverts. it's not great but better than spending an extra 10-20 bucks on a movie. bleh.Comment
