Robopocalypse. All of my problems with World War Z (which I had alot) are not found in this book. It's the same type of premise except about a sentient AI that takes over the world. You start at the end and then the whole book puts the events in chronological order following at least a dozen different people through the years of the robot war. It's fucking awesome. Quick read, but I would fucking kill for this to be a movie. Highly recommended.

Finished The Color of Magic last night, the first Discworld book. Easy enough and fairly enjoyable read, but not nearly as entertaining as some of the later books, like Postal. It was tempting to put it down and not come back to it, but I love the series and wanted to power through. Not much of a payoff at the end, maybe the second book picks up right where it leaves off.

Started Neuromancer for the first time though. And man, not very far in and I am already hooked. 2% on my Kindle and I've already seen copious amounts of shit stolen by other cyber punk franchises. IM ON TO YOU WAKOWSKIS

    I don't know.

      Spoiler: SPOILER!
I REALLY liked what he did with the Crippled God. I always assumed the Malazan Book of the Fallen referred to the fallen soldiers... I liked that twist a lot.

And that touching moment with Korlat and WJ... simple, effective. I'm glad Fiddler lived through.

Overall, it conclude the narrative set forth, and keeps some threads wide open. I'll need to re-read everything, but next up, Dragons, and then Stonewielder. Cameron's book aren't up to Erikson's level, but he's getting closer and closer.

And I'll miss Tehol Beddict a lot. Him and Bugg = best comedic duo over written. His letter to his bro was hilarious.

    About damn time.

Now I can voice my opinion. Was kind of underwhelmed. Did I enjoy all the character beats? Yes. The ending was too.....pat.

I'm done with The Crippled God.

    Wow.

Monumental. I highly doubt a long running fantasy series will ever top the consistency of that one.

I shan't check those spoilers as I'm in the third book something of swords or whatever but glad to hear it's a good read. I've enjoyed them all so far but A Clash of Kings was a slog at times.

    Finished Dance With Dragons

      Spoiler: here be spoilz
The first half of the book was pretty yawn inducing. Didn't enjoy the Bran chapters at all. Loved all the goings on at the Wall, and SO pissed that Jon is more than likely dead, unless Mellisandre brings him back to life. I would have to think Thormund is going to wipe out the Night Watch, as he and Jon seemed to have a great respect for each other.

Cersei has a fucking ZOMBIE built from the remains of The Mountain on the Kingsguard? What in the FUCK. Crazytown. Varys is a fucking pimp, and the most interesting character. Well he, Littlefinger, and Jaime are all very interesting to me. I am intrigued to see what the Bravossi banker really is, he wouldn't ride out to Stannis just to discuss money, right? He has to be something else.

Overall, good read in the second half. WINTER IS HERE.

Bah. You know what I mean. Took FOREVER to get to the Bridgeburners. Besides, this was originally part of the last book, right? If so, then this is one long ass intermission. I'm not complaining too much. It's just, this is it. I'm ready for what's going to happen, to happen.

Also, not a fan of him trying to flesh out Tavore. She's supposed to be cold, a cipher.

    Fuck. You're farther than me!

And it's Erikson. It's his MO to start slow. The shitstorm is coming.

And stuff already happened. JADE GIANT!

Hey Martin! About 320 pages into CG. Good lord is it taking FOREVER for anything to happen in this book. Shurq Elalle is still one of my favorite characters.
