Looking for a good video downloader/player!

I've been using RealPlayer to download and watch vids from sites like YouTube onto my computer, but RealPlayer doesn't always give me the download icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Hence, can't download shit.

Anyone know of a safe, reliable, video downloader I can use? Just want to have a nice archive of vids to watch later (music videos, stuff like that).

I've been using the one Rob linked for audio things that you just can't purchase like speeches from flicks set to music and what not. It's aces.

Now that I have a new computer, I'm looking for YouTube and other video downloading software for Chrome (Firefox was tetchy). Any advice on good ones?
