So, I've been running a dual monitor setup for years now, and I've been having trouble lately. When I boot up my computer, my right-hand monitor activates, shows the startup splash screen and express gate. Once I load in to windows, however, my right-hand monitor switches off, and my left-hand monitor switches on. At this point, I can't get my right-hand monitor to show any damn thing at all; windows deactivates the monitor and all desktop items shift to the left. If I activate the monitor, windows will recognize, but the light on the monitor just blinks.

This happened a while ago, and I swapped the cords between the monitors and things worked fine for a while. Happened again last night, so I updated the drivers and again it worked fine all night. Just booted up my comp again this morning, and it's happening again.

Any suggestions?

I'm using the monitors in a dual-view setup, and I'm running a GeForce GTX 285.

Considering that it works just fine on startup, it's the newer of my two monitors and that jazz... No, I don't think so.

Cables, maybe? Still using the old-style cables that need adapters with my video card....

Could it be the fucking adapter crapping out? If it's a new monitor, go get a newer one. See if that works. If not, get new cables. if not, get new adapters...if not STOP DOWNLOADING GOTHICSCAT PORN.
