Nope. Guess I could uninstall the software and then reinstall it. Don't want to fuck up the server. Would be bad.Touch it. Touch my fuzziness! It's like petting a kitten!

Its not a department. They are a separate company. Dude that has been working with us for the last few weeks is on vacation. Shit is expensive so we don't want to have them come out if we don't have to.Touch it. Touch my fuzziness! It's like petting a kitten!

Excellent question. Boss man is supposed to be on it. You would think they would have default passwords so that if another person from their company comes to do work, they'll be able to access certain things.Touch it. Touch my fuzziness! It's like petting a kitten!

VPN software can be tricky, as if it is handled by CISCO software (like ours is at the college), someone has to create an account for you in the CISCO VPN system you are using in order for you to use the VPN software to remote connect to a server. Your AD credentials won't be enough, and they may not want to give you their login because it might have too many access privileges.
When it does work, you will be using something called Remote Desktop Connection (something built into Windows) to basically make it like your normal PC desktop is the server's desktop, and you can do your work from there. You may have some other program your company uses to remote control PCs like that, but I am guessing your consulting company went with what is simple. The reason you can't just use Remote Desktop Connection now is that your server more than likely forbids it unless your computer is registered to be on the same node/network/cat fancy. That is what VPN facilitates. It lets your desktop PC fake its way into looking like it belongs to a different node/network/pineapple...
