I gave my dogs a bath and now they are ping-ponging around the house like a couple of speed freaks. This happens every time. I know the older one just wants to run out and roll in the dirt.

Took Oscar to the vet yesterday for his last set of kitten shots. He's gained almost 2lbs in a month. Other than that, he's in good health and the vet said we can move him onto adult food whenever we want. Yay!

Wondering if it's genetic for tuxedo cats to be a little on the hefty side? Oscar is definitely a bit chunky and it seems like most pics I see of black and white kitties are on the plus side as well.

We have two. One's a little bit porky (Stitch) one's thinner (Patch), so it doesn't surprise me that a lot of tuxedos seem to lean towards the stockier sizes. Could also be due to breeding, plus in our case, Stitch isn't as active as Patch is. Stitch is the Zen master of sleeping and loves to eat, while Patch is constantly running around, causing mischief.

You also might want to check Oscar's muscle tone as well - Stitch surprised me one day when I was giving him belly rub and he saw a bug on the ceiling. He tensed up, and you could feel his musculature on his arms and chest through the fur. He might not actually be fat per se (well, he IS older now, so...), but big-boned, as it were. Could very well be the fur is giving the illusion of plumpness.

Bout to have to give up the ghost on Ditto. She's become a terrorist. For almost three weeks straight she would never let us sleep. She would bark all night, scratch at the door to be let out, climb up on our heads, stir in the bed, anything but sleep. Finally I put my foot down and said she has to sleep outside the bedroom. Of course she's been scratching at the door and barking ALL NIGHT since doing this, and I personally don't want the door to get fucked up, plus my sleeping has not improved that much because she is still making all that noise.

She's also terrorizing Gucci anytime she can. Gucci won't go near either food/water bowl unless Ditto is not in the room, because she will go to whatever bowl Gucci goes to and get in his face and growl until they start fighting. And this morning I let Ditto into the bedroom while getting dressed. She started going after Gucci when he as just moving in the bed, to the point that Gucci just hid under the pillows.

I feel bad, because it's obvious Ditto wasn't treated right by her previous owners, but she's so old now that trying to change her isn't going to happen. I also am kind of pissed off because I told Brittany to bring the dog around for a weekend so we could check her out, and she just snagged her without really seeing how she acts. My dad mentioned wanting her so I may look into that.
