  • New DMB album- June 2, 2009. And first Summer '09 tour dates!

Hells yes. Here are deets from the latest Warehouse e-mail: I have no fucking idea why this shit won't format correctly. Swipe to read the rest of this post, I guess.

We are excited to bring you the first Dave Matthews Band tour dates of 2009. On April 14th, Dave Matthews Band returns with its first studio album in four years - and they'll celebrate with a show at New York City's Madison Square Garden that evening. The MSG show will be followed by 16 additional US spring dates, including a stop at the 40th Annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on April 26, 2008. Along the way, Dave Matthews Band fans will be treated to the group's first-ever live performances of songs from the new yet-to-be titled album. Joining the group on the road this spring will be Tim Reynolds on guitar, Rashawn Ross on trumpet and Jeff Coffin on saxophone.
I'm glad that Coffin is sticking with the band for the tour. He certainly has a different style than Leroi but it blends well with the band. I wonder if he covered the missing sax tracks that Roi wasn't able to complete for the new record.

I'm so disappointed that they are not coming to the midwest... wtf?!

      What the hell is Superpages?

Jeebus that venue changes its name more than a pornstar changes jimmy hats.

Sorry for that everyone, but its the truth down here in the southwest. That and Republicans rule the land with an iron grip.

Also, too many assholes ruin the fun so I'll be getting lawn tickets.

Yeah, I like them live. WHAT NAO?

This is only the first leg. I'd bet a whole dollar they swing back across the country one more time and wrap up the tour in September in the traditional closing venue, the Gorge.

And the name of the new album is...

Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King

          What. the. fuck.

I wonder if it's a concept album. In other semi-DMB related news, this month's Playboy Playmate is pretty cute and has been to 29 DMB shows.

Apparently it's a reference to New Orleans and Roi. I hope they put a nice dedication in the liner notes.

Are you thinking of picking up the new Live Trax release featuring Roi's last show, Lesley? I haven't bought any of the Live Trax discs, mainly because I know my OCD will kick in and will have to buy them all, but I think I'll pick this one up. Not only for sentimental value but because some of the proceeds are going to the children's hospital in Charlottesville.

I actually stopped paying attention to the Live Trax albums because I already have around 6 of them I think and just gets to be expensive. So I wasn't aware that they are putting one out with Roi's last show. I think I may have to get it just for that reason. And because of $ going to charity - that's good too of course. Thanks for letting me know - do you know which Live Trax # it is?

First taste of the new album.

I like it a lot. I do not like the spaz who starts the autistic shakes as soon as they press play. I white-boy dance as much as the next normal guy at a show but he goes too far.

I agree with all of those statements.
