I'm looking forward to this like I do every year. The local comic shop/music store always does a mega-sale that day, so I'm figuring out what holes in my GN collection I can fill.

It means what it says, there are special funny books that are designed exclusively to be given away.

They give out specific free comic books made specifically for free comic book day. If you get there crazy early, sometimes you can grab the super-ultra-rare-deluxe-combo comic that can sell for a lot.
