  • I just saw an episode of Throwdown w/ Bobby Flay on Food Network, and the food in question was mac & cheese. His recipe looked really, really good. Not quite as good as Vin's maybe, but still. . . Wanna try both, and that right soon.
I like the way the line runs up the back of the stocking.

    • So, I made some BANGIN:

      Maryland Style Wings

First, I separated, steamed, and dried the wings using the Alton Brown method. The sauce I made is pretty simple, damn near close to a stick of butter, melted, with a pinch of salt and a healthy dose of Old Bay mixed in. I laid out the wings on a cooling rack situated inside a cookie sheet, the brushed the butter mixture all over them, making sure the old bay really slathers them. I bake them for 20 minutes at 450, then flip them, slather them again, and bake for another 20 minutes at 450. Instead of bleu cheese and celery on the side, I serve them with cucumber slices and ranch dressing.

Let me know if anyone tries this! I love them!

        • And some Kosher salt, yup. The trick I realized is basting while they're cooking, as opposed to after they're done baking. It makes everything a lot crispier. It's incredibly easy, but man, delicious.

              • Crack rock that makes you fat instead of skinny.

EDIT: And obviously, you can use egg instead of butter. Just depends on the person.

                      3 slices cooked ham
                      3 slices American cheese
                      3 slices swiss cheese

Place turkey and Swiss cheese on one slice of bread and ham and American cheese on another slice of bread.

Place third slice in-between and secure the triple-decker sandwich in the corners with tooth picks.

Place egg in mixing bowl, add water and beat together. Add salt, sugar, flour, and baking powder. Beat batter until smooth.

Dip sandwich in batter and carefully cover all the sides and surface.

Carefully place in hot oil and fry until golden. When sandwich has turned a warm gold color remove from hot oil and place on paper towel.

Let cool for a few minutes before removing the tooth picks. Before serving slice into quarters and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

                      Serve with raspberry jam.

                          • They used to make them at my college cafeteria without the sugar. Loved them that way. Can't get my mind around ham & melted cheese with sugar on top. One of the few things my caf did right, IMO.
